The Ultimate Scenic and Success-Oriented Route to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The Northern Circuit Route is one of the most highly recommended paths for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, offering a complete and unique experience with nearly 360-degree views of the mountain’s stunning landscapes, including the quiet and rarely visited northern slopes. As the longest route on Kilimanjaro, the Northern Circuit provides the most time for acclimatization, resulting in the highest summit success rates—ideal for climbers seeking both adventure and the best chance of reaching Uhuru Peak.
Approaching from the west, the journey begins with a scenic drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. The first two days lead you through Kilimanjaro’s lush rainforest, reaching the Shira Ridge before crossing the expansive Shira Plateau. From here, the route takes you north, circling clockwise around the mountain. This path allows you to experience remote and breathtaking campsites, such as Moir Hut, Buffalo Camp, and School Hut, before making the final summit push from the eastern side. The descent follows the Mweka Route, completing a full circuit around Kilimanjaro’s majestic slopes.
Incredible Africa Adventures offers the Northern Circuit as a nine-day group or private climb. For those seeking an even more immersive experience, a 10-day variation with an overnight stay at Crater Camp is available as a private climb by special request. Take on the Northern Circuit Route for the ultimate Kilimanjaro adventure, where unmatched scenery meets the highest summit success rates!
